The Vanier scholarship is available for various programs, including:
- Master’s leading to PhD

Each Vanier CGS Canada Graduate Scholarships provides $50,000 per year for up to three years.
Eligibility criteria for the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships 2025:
Citizenship:
- Permanent residents of Canada
- Foreign citizens
- Canadian citizens
Nominations:
- You can be nominated by only one Canadian institution that has a Vanier CGS quota
Full-Time Studies:
- Note that For joint programs, only the PhD portion is eligible for funding. You need to intend to pursue full-time doctoral studies or a joint graduate research program at the nominating institution starting in the summer semester or academic year following the announcement of results.
First Doctoral Degree:
You must be pursuing your first doctoral degree, which includes joint programs like:
- DVM/PhD
- MBA/PhD (if it includes significant research)
- JD/PhD
